The Takapuna is a modern kitset bed base delivered flat in a box, designed for tight stairs, compact hallways and modern builds where a traditional base will not fit. It builds into a clean, elevated base in premium fabric, with laminated slats, wood look legs and a raised side rail height for a visually balanced profile. It is headboard ready and includes four standard bolts to mount the headboard of your choice, and it pairs with the Chelsea mattress in a box for a fully boxed, easy to carry solution. From Dreamland, a New Zealand sleep brand, the Takapuna is sized for standard New Zealand beds and comes in King Single, Double, Queen, King and Super King, in Midnight Grey or Sandstone.

The Takapuna comes in King Single, Double, Queen, King and Super King, each with a 32 cm high base. King Single is 107 cm wide x 203 cm long, Double is 137 cm wide x 188 cm long, Queen is 153 cm wide x 203 cm long, King is 167 cm wide x 203 cm long, and Super King is 183 cm wide x 203 cm long, with about 12 cm of clearance underneath.

Why a kitset base, and how does it ship?

The Takapuna ships flat in a box as a kitset (knock down) base, so it fits up tight stairs, through compact hallways and into modern builds where a traditional one piece base will not go. It assembles at home, and the assembly bolts should be retightened after the first month and then periodically.

Does the Takapuna come with a headboard or the bolts to fit one?

The Takapuna is headboard ready and includes four standard mounting bolts, so you can fit the headboard of your choice. The headboard itself is not included.
